The Founders

Director: Charlene Fisk

Producer: Phoebe Brown

Release: 2016

The Founders”, sponsored by our own local LPGA member Connie Deckert, is the story of 13 women golfers who battled society, finances and sometimes even each other, to stake their claim to become professional sportswomen. With humour, grit and raw talent, these underdogs changed the course of women’s sport and created a timeless story of redemption and endurance. Through rare archival footage, historical re-enactments and current-day interviews with surviving LGPA founders, their story is told in this feature length documentary. The Founders won the Audience Award for Best Feature Film out of a field of 200 films at the 40th Annual Atlanta Film Festival in 2016. This film is not just for golfers but for anyone who believes in the transformative power of defying the odds.    85 minutes in length.

The director Charlene Fisk is scheduled to speak at the Directors’ Lunch, Wednesday November 8th, 2017, see Tickets for details.
